Ping Pang Pong Las Vegas Review: The Best Authentic Dim Sum (2026)
Las Vegas has no shortage of high-end, fine-dining Chinese restaurants on the Strip. But if you want a truly authentic, incredibly delicious Cantonese meal, you need to head slightly off-Strip to the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino.
This is where you will find Ping Pang Pong, a legendary Chinese restaurant that has been a Las Vegas institution for over 20 years. It has been named one of the top 10 Asian restaurants in America by Travel + Leisure and consistently wins the “Best of Las Vegas” awards.
My family absolutely loves this place. Going here for weekend Dim Sum lunch has become one of our favorite Las Vegas traditions. Here is everything you need to know before you visit in 2026, including the must-order dishes, the pricing, and the slightly chaotic reality of dining here.
1. The Famous Dim Sum Cart Experience
Ping Pang Pong is famous for its authentic Dim Sum service, which is only available from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily.
If you come during this window, you will witness the dining room filled with ladies pushing traditional rolling metal carts stacked high with steaming bamboo baskets. It is such a fun experience because you never know what is going to be on the cart—it’s always a surprise! You simply point at what looks good, and they stamp your card.
TIP
Be careful of over-ordering! Because the carts are constantly rolling by and everything looks incredible, it is very easy to accidentally end up with 12 different little plates on your table.
2. Our Favorite Dishes
The food here is as legit as it gets. While the menu spans various Chinese provinces, their Cantonese classics are the star of the show.
- Pork Shumai: The classic. It comes with four perfectly steamed pieces and is served with chili sauce. A must-order from the carts.
- Shrimp with Garlic: Giant, flavorful pieces of shrimp coated in garlic bits. (Note: the shell/skin is still on, so you have to bite through it or peel it yourself).
- Stuffed Tofu: A major favorite of ours. It sits in a savory sauce, slightly crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, stuffed with shrimp.
- Beef and Chinese Broccoli: The beef is unbelievably tender. The Chinese broccoli provides a perfect crunch on the stem with soft leafy greens, lightly seasoned.
- Yang Chow Fried Rice: Packed with pork, large shrimp, and scallions. It is incredibly hearty and flavorful.
- Beef Tender Noodle Soup: You have to have noodle soup at a Chinese restaurant! Slices of beef, bok choy, and noodles in an authentic broth.
- Buchi (Sesame Balls): From the dessert cart, these sesame balls are crispy on the outside, and warm, soft, and chewy on the inside. The perfect sweet finish.
3. The Price: Incredible Value
One of the main reasons my family keeps coming back is the value.
When we go for a weekend Dim Sum lunch, we usually order a ton of food—multiple dim sum baskets, soup, a couple of main dishes like the fried rice, and dessert. For three people to be completely stuffed, our total bill is almost always around $100.
For food of this caliber in Las Vegas, spending roughly $33 per person for a massive feast is an absolute steal. (For more budget-friendly ideas, check out our guide to the Best Cheap Eats on the Las Vegas Strip).
4. The Atmosphere (The Pros & Cons)
I want to be completely honest about the vibe here so you know what to expect.
The Pros: The decor is elegant with beautiful ceilings, and the environment feels exactly like a bustling restaurant in China. It is authentic, energetic, and completely legitimate. Furthermore, they have fantastic late-night hours. While Dim Sum ends at 3:00 PM, their regular menu is served all the way until 3:00 AM, making it one of the best Late Night Cheap Eats in the city.
The Cons: Because it is so popular, it gets very chaotic.
- Wait Times: On a weekend at lunchtime, expect a line. You will usually have to wait about 10 to 15 minutes to be seated.
- Service Delays: The staff is very transactional rather than warm and fuzzy. Because there are simply too many people, the waiters often can’t handle taking orders or running credit cards in time. You will likely have to wait a while just to pay your bill at the end of the meal.
Final Verdict
If you are looking for a quiet, romantic, high-touch service experience, this isn’t it. (For that, check out our guide to The 5 Best Fine Dining Chinese Restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip). But if you want some of the best, most authentic Chinese food and Dim Sum in North America at an unbeatable price, Ping Pang Pong is highly recommended.
