Area 15 Las Vegas Guide 2026: Everything You Need to Know (Zone 1 & 2)
Las Vegas is constantly evolving, and right now, the most exciting destination off the Strip is undoubtedly Area 15.
Located just across Interstate 15 (about a mile from Wynn and Encore), Area 15 is a massive, 40-acre immersive entertainment district. It blends surreal art installations—heavily inspired by Burning Man and Area 51—with cutting-edge technology, incredible food, and unparalleled interactive experiences.
Whether you are looking for a casual stroll through neon-lit art or an intense, full-day interactive adventure, this 2026 guide will cover everything you need to know about the classic Zone 1 and the massive new Zone 2 expansion.
1. What is Area 15 (And Is It Free?)
One of the biggest misconceptions about Area 15 is that it’s an exclusive theme park that requires an expensive ticket just to walk through the doors.
TIP
Free Admission: General admission to enter the Area 15 complex, walk around, and take photos with the massive outdoor and indoor art installations is 100% FREE. You only pay for the specific activities, restaurants, or experiences you choose to do.
Inside the main building (Zone 1), the vibe is electric. It feels like a cyberpunk dream mixed with a rave, featuring neon lights, pulsating music, and mind-bending sculptures. You can easily spend 90 minutes just exploring the free areas.
2. How to Get There (Don’t Walk!)
While Area 15 looks close to the Strip on a map, do not attempt to walk there. You would have to navigate through pedestrian-unfriendly highways and industrial warehouses. (For more tips on getting around efficiently, see our guide on How to Get Around Las Vegas Without a Car).
WARNING
Transportation Tip: Always take a rideshare (Uber/Lyft) to Area 15. Alternatively, the autonomous vehicle company Zoox frequently offers free rides to Area 15 from participating hotels like Resorts World and New York-New York. If you drive your own car, parking is free for Nevada residents, while out-of-state plates are charged a flat daily rate capped at $6.99 (managed via the Metropolis app).
3. Zone 1: “The Bunkers” (The Classics)
Zone 1 is the original building that put Area 15 on the map. Here are the must-see tenants and attractions:
- Omega Mart (Meow Wolf): The crown jewel of Area 15. From the outside, it looks like a bizarre supermarket, but walking through the freezer doors reveals a massive, multi-story, surreal art exhibition and mystery. (For a deep dive, check out our Ultimate Guide to Omega Mart).
- John Wick Experience: A highly immersive, Hollywood-level attraction that blends an escape room with live-action theater. You are assigned tasks by actors playing assassins and crime bosses in the Continental Hotel.
- Liftoff Bar: A 360-degree aerial bar that spins as it lifts you into the sky, offering incredible views of the Las Vegas Strip while you sip your cocktail.
- Other Highlights: Grab nostalgic treats at Rocket Fizz Candy Shop, throw axes at Dueling Axes, buy quirky gifts at Kappa Toys, or grab a massive barbecue brisket sandwich at The Beast.
(Note: The Illuminarium attraction, previously located here, permanently closed its doors in early 2026).
4. Zone 2: “The Terminals” (The 2026 Expansion)
The brand new Zone 2 expansion essentially doubled the size of Area 15 overnight. This outdoor/indoor hybrid area brings entirely new thrills to the campus.
- Universal Horror Unleashed: A massive, year-round horror experience created by Universal Studios. It features terrifying, high-budget haunted houses starring classic monsters and new nightmares (like the Exorcist and Van Helsing).
- Interstellar Ark: A state-of-the-art VR sci-fi experience where you board a massive spaceship.
- The Zooper Carousel & Food Trucks: A fantastic spot to grab a bite. Don’t miss the Mexican food truck serving up incredible Esquite (Mexican street corn) Grilled Cheese sandwiches!
- The Boeing 747: You can’t miss the colossal, real-life Boeing 747 parked in the center quad. It is being converted into a massive new venue and restaurant.
5. Pricing: A La Carte vs. Experience Passes
If you plan on doing more than just walking around, you have two options: buy tickets for individual attractions (A La Carte) or purchase an Experience Pass.
If you want to do 2 or more activities, the Experience Pass is by far the smartest choice. AREA15 utilizes a dynamic pricing model based on the date and demand, but here is the general structure:
- Access Level 1 (Starts at $49): A one-day pass that includes 17 experiences, a ride on the Eye Dropper, and 30% off Dueling Axes and Five Iron Golf.
- Access Level 2 (Starts at $99): Everything in Level 1, plus Birdly VR, Wink World, Grand Prix Racing Sims, and your choice of 1 Partner Experience.
- Access Level 3A & 3B (Starts at $129 - $136): Two-day passes that include everything from Level 2, plus your choice of 2 Partner Experiences, and either Omega Mart (3A) or Universal Horror Unleashed (3B).
- Access Level 4 (Starts at $225): The ultimate three-day pass giving you all-access to every experience.
TIP
Booking Strategy: Book your passes online at least 15 days in advance to score a discount of up to 20%. Also, look out for “Locals Night” promotions if you are visiting mid-week!
Area 15 is unlike anything else in Las Vegas. Whether you are traveling with family or looking for a wild night out, this immersive district absolutely deserves a spot on your itinerary.
